Photography from Amma + Amir’s Wedding

Ang and I got to take a trip up to Boston to photograph Amma + Amir’s Wedding

Destination Wedding’s are a lot of fun, we arrived in Boston on Friday for the Saturday Wedding. This gave us a great opportunity to not only spend some extra time with A + A, but to also meet their families, hang out and be apart of the rehearsal dinner.

Before the Wedding I’d had a great meeting and a few phone conversations with A + A, so we were pretty comfortable with each other. Amma + Amir had expressed that they definitely wanted a very natural and candid style to their Wedding Photography, which was quite easy for me as the two of them make a great couple and are very relaxed and natural around the camera and one and other.

As the day started there was a little bit of a distraction around Amma’s parents house. It was the day of the USA vs Ghana world cup soccer match – Amma’s family is originally from Ghana, so you can imagine there was A LOT of interests in the game!

After the excitement from Ghana’s win had subsided the rest of day was very relaxed with a great vibe from all the guests. It was held on the grounds of the Fisk Memorial United Methodist Church where Amma’s father is the pastor. Both of Amma’s parents presided over the Wedding ceremony which made the event even more special.

After the Ceremony all A + A’s guests gathered in the large marquee for some amazing food, beautiful speeches and lots of fun on the dance floor!

Photography from Elaine + Don’s Wedding at West Sayville Country Club, Long Island

Well, this one’s a very sweet story.

Elaine + Don were high school sweet hearts. They lost touch for MANY years, but then one day out of the blue, thanks to good ol’ trusty Facebook they were able to re-unite. They got engaged just months after re connecting :)

Not long into our first meeting I knew that I wanted to be there to photograph Elaine + Don’s Wedding. Elaine has such a huge and wonderful heart, At a time when some women her age would be terrified to devulge how old they are Elaine is out there and honest about it all, loving it and embracing life. In fact, if she wasn’t so open about her age you’d swear she was years younger!

Our day started with bridal preparation photography, Ang and I got to spend some time with Elaine while she got ready. She was very excited, full of spirit, no sign of pre Wedding jitters. This is one of my favourite parts of a Wedding day, there’s lots of excitement in the air, plenty of action and always great photographs to capture. Elaine was so calm and relaxed there was no way we couldn’t have fun, we chatted, sipped champagne and had some laughs (it’s a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it)

The Wedding was in Long Island, NY at The West Sayville Country Club. The weather wasn’t totally on our side – we had some MAJOR winds rip through Long Island. Unfortunately, the ceremony was moved indoors, but no one was too fazed and the ceremony was still beautiful.

Here are a couple of images from the day.

This is Buffy, she’s a super cute, but shy Bichon. She wasn’t leaving mummy’s side all night :)

Thanks to Elaine + Don for allowing us to be a part of your day. I really enjoyed my time as their Wedding photographer.

Wedding Photography from Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, New York

Here is a peak at Rosa and Victor’s Wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens has got to be one of the best locations for a New York City out door Wedding. It has multiple Ceremony sites, including my favourite, the Japanese hill and pond garden.

It was such a hot New York summer but on this August morning the weather was perfect and the Japanese Garden was looking amazing for R + V’s ceremony. It was an intimate gathering of close friends and family for Rosa and Vic, a perfect way to start of their new chapter as husband and wife.

We spent sometime walking through the gardens for some bridal portraits, then later meet up again with all their friends and family for a big celebration at Buckley’s Caterers in Brooklyn.

Wedding Photography from Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is such an amazing place for a Wedding! So many opportunities for great Photography.

I had the pleasure of photographing Saadiqua + Carlos’s Wedding in the Japanese gardens early one Saturday morning. We totally lucked out with a beautiful sunny morning. S + C’s Wedding was a cute, intimate affair with family and a few close friends. The small number of guests enabled us to have the ceremony staged on the foot bride that crossed the Japanese pond. Amongst the lush Japanese maples, Koi fish, sun baking turtles and the sounds of the near by waterfall S + C sealed the deal on their relationship.

The images below are a quick peak at S + C’s Wedding Photography.
