Rippon Lea House and Gardens – stunning wedding venue!

Well, there certainly isn’t any surprise that I would feature Rippon Lea House and Gardens as one of Melbourne’s best venues for your Wedding photography.

Once you’re inside the Rippon Lea Estate you would never guess you’re standing in Elsternwick in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. The heritage Gardens are huge, peaceful and so meticulously cared for they provide a huge variety of photo opportunities.

From narrow, tree lined pathways , to expansive lawns, a huge lake, fruit orchard, a covered fernery, old stables and of course the Rippon Lea Mansion it truly is a photographers delight and the perfect surrounds for some beautiful Wedding portraits.

Some client love from a Brooklyn Bride

I was super stoked to get an email the other day from one of my brides who’s Wedding I photographed in Brooklyn some time back. The first months as a newly married couple definitely fly by, so I totally understand when I don’t hear from people in a while. But once I do, and they have such great things to say it blows me away!

I love being given the opportunity and honor to photograph peoples Weddings, the fact that they trust me enough to let me see them totally uncensored, to see all the emotions, and for them to let me in to their family for such a momentous occasion gives me a great sense of pride and joy.

These emails and letters make my “job” even more awesome!

HI ANDY!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You did such an amazing job at our wedding. I get emotional every time I look at our wedding pictures. You listened to what we wanted and gave us exactly what we asked for. The documentary style you implemented really tells the story of our wedding day and you captured it perfectly.  There were moments taking place that I didn’t even realize and to see it in the pictures makes me experience our wedding day all over again. Simply put, OUR PICTURES ARE AMAZING!

You have such a great attitude and approach. We were looking for someone laid back and fun. You definitely delivered that!!! My bridesmaids loved you and everyone felt so comfortable with you. It was like you weren’t even there. I remember friends coming up to us asking, ” Who is that crazy guy standing on the table and couches, hes’ alot of fun”. We called you Spiderman because you were all over the place…hahahaha. They were shocked when I said you were the photographer. You mingled so well with our family and friends.

Wedding Photography from Kris + Nicole’s Ceremony in Fitzroy Gardens

I’ve been holding off on this post for a little while because I wanted to post it after the new Wedding website/blog was finished and online.

It’s been an exciting last few months with our move from New York back to Melbourne. It’s been great catching up with old friends and family, settling back into Melbourne life and heading down the beach – bring on the sunshine!

It seemed like the perfect time to launch the new site and brand, to coincide with our move back home. I can’t wait to get busy photographing more Weddings back here in Melbourne!

These photos are from Kris + Nicole’s Wedding ceremony in the Fitzroy Gardens. It’s such a beautiful spot to get married, however in true Melbourne style the weather threatened to make it a very wet and soggy Wedding Ceremony. Lucky for us it held off right until the very end of our portrait session.

From my point of view, as a Wedding photographer the ceremony is a great time to capture real, honest moments of family members and guests – everybody is so wrapped up in what’s happening and being said that they are completely oblivious to the camera.

Enjoy these moments from Kris + Nicole’s Wedding

Photography from Vanessa + Dave’s Wedding at The Pier Geelong

Well, some of you have been waiting anxiously to see the full bog post of images from Vanessa + Dave’s Wedding, so here it is!

If you haven’t seen any of the photos yet Dave and Vanessa are such a gorgeous couple, relaxed, natural, at ease and in love. It was such an honour and pleasure to be a part of their Wedding day!

The entire day was a lot of fun and had a really relaxed vibe. The atmosphere when Ang and I arrived to photograph Vanessa and the girls getting ready was so calm and chilled out, even the flower girls were fuss-free! There was no rush, everybody was very composed, a glass of champagne in hand while they were all just going about their business.

It was a quick drive from the house to the Wedding Ceremony at the Wesley Uniting Church in Geelong. When Ang and I arrived everybody was inside waiting for bride’s arrival and I gotta say, Dave and his groomsmen all looked a little nervous (Vanessa and the bridesmaids were only late by a few minutes) but when Dave saw Vanessa walking down the isle his face lit up like Time Square!

After the ceremony and the congratulations we headed off with the bridal party for some portrait photography around the Geelong city centre and down to the Geelong waterfront. The great vibe continued through the afternoon, with some sunshine, laughs and a few beverages. We had a great time capturing photos of the whole gang.

The celebration continued on into the night with the Wedding reception hosted by the newly completed The Pier Geelong situated at the end of Cunningham pier, an awesome spot to dance the night away :)
