The Wedding Photography of Sydney + Rogelio in DUMBO Brooklyn

Sydney and Rogelio had a small group of friends with them when they took their vows on Friday at New York City Hall. But, it was the Saturday, on August 22nd that they were saving all the hurrar for. They celebrated their Wedding with friends and family at an awesome Willamsburg loft, come reception space. The three level space with an outside garden/patio and a large balcony area over looking the dance floor and various little sitting rooms was the perfect venue for the relaxed, laid back feel that Sydney and Rogelio wanted for their Wedding reception.  Sydney and Rogelio had his brother perform a ceremony that night for all their guests and they had help from other friends to make the day feel like their own with hand picked flowers, candles and homemade cupcakes (Yum!!) As is often the case in New York on an August day it was very hot and humid so we had decided to organise their photo session a few weeks later. So we met up for our photoshoot one September afternoon down in the always beautiful DUMBO. Here are a few of the photos from that session…

20th March ’09   JEFF + ASHLEY

Hi again, going back in time, I got a little out of wack with my postings. The Wedding of Jeff and Ashley was the first I had the pleasure photographing in New York.

With a passion for travel and adventure Jeff and Ashley had decided to get Married in Marakesh, Morrocco. To make the marriage legal they needed to have a ceremony in the US so they chose New York City as the place to make it official. Needless to say, I was thrilled to be a part of it. Jeff and Ashley said their I do’s at the New York City Hall. Jeff’s mother was unable to fly to Morrocco for the big ceremony so she had the honour of acting as the witness in New York.

Before Meeting up with Jeff and his mother Ashley and I had some fun taking photos around the West village. Ashley stayed the night at the Jane Hotel. It’s a very unique hotel with a real retro interior. It served as a great backdrop for Ashley’s vintage, 50’s inspired Wedding dress. We finished off our photo session with a ride on the subway which was a laugh! We ended up clearing out most of the subway cart as people backed further and further away thinking that they should move clear of the photographer and bride. I had to keep explaining that they were an integral part of the photos!

After the ceremony and all the paper work was signed I took Jeff and Ashley to the Brooklyn Bridge for some portraits. Mother nature put on a great sunny, March day for us!

Here are a few of the images from the day.enjoy…
